In the winter the atmospheric effects created by the volcanic thermals are fantastic to photography.
Throughout the weekend you will be encouraged and inspired to shoot images that are atmospheric and dramatic, and shoot them in a way that is both technically correct and aesthetically pleasing. Jackie and Mike pride themselves on their helpful critique sessions. They will teach you all about how to ‘see’ photographically.
"Our aim is to help you develop your own personal photographic aesthetics. By the end of the workshop you will have an educated opinion regarding what makes a 'good' photograph and why. We teach you our visual language and encourage you to develop your own."
The outcome of the workshop will be a series of images by each individual photographer. These will be collated into a book.
The Critique Process For all multi-day photo workshops, students will need to edit their images from each photographic session down to around twelve files. These edited images will be downloaded onto our computer and will be data projected for the group to see. The edited images will become part of a book we will make at the end of the workshop. Copyright of the images remains with the photographers at all times. If you don’t have your own laptop or downloading devise then please let us know, we can facilitate by using our computers. You will need to have many camera memory cards or a downloading device to back up you files.
